Less hazardous material, economic advantages

Refilling and using MOL eco+ auto gas is safe, and has many environmental and economic advantages. In order to ensure the necessary engine performance, its octane number exceeds standard specifications significantly; its value is around 93, nearly equal to the ES-95 gasoline’s value. Gas-fuelled cars emit less hazardous material than cars running with traditional fuels.

The specifications of the Hungarian auto gas standards are the same as the requirements of the European standards.


Advice and recommendation for use

Special rules apply for re-fuelling, starting and operating gas-fuelled vehicles.

  • Cold start:Starting difficulties may occur at temperatures below 0 ˚C. Under low temperature conditions it is advisable to start in gasoline mode. When the engine has reached the operating temperature, change over to gas mode in accordance with the instructions specified for the vehicle.
  • Suction valve maintenance: In some car types that are converted to gas mode at a later date, the deposit generated on the suction valves may cause problems. A solution to avoid this problem is to change the auto gas and the gasoline mode regularly, in order to facilitate the cleaning by the motor gasoline. If the car operates in gasoline mode in 20 to 30% of the time, the cleaning is solved even in problematic cars. Using proper low ash engine oils will also result in a reduction of deposit formations.
  • Limitations in connection with use: According to the current Hungarian regulations, gas-fuelled cars can not park in underground garages, as the ventilation in these facilities is not yet solved. As auto gas is heavier than air, its possible leakage can form an explosive blend if it accumulates at floor level.
